French Gothic Revival Walnut Armoire

A superb French Gothic-Revival armoire circa 1870 with turned Solomonic columns. The body and decorations are made of solid walnut. Beneath the trail of dentils at the top of the armoire are small Gothic style arches in relief, which repeat in the panels along the facade. Detailed walnut carvings of flora and fauna are featured within the panels, as well as naturalistic intertwining arches and ornate quatrefoils, popularized and featured in Gothic architecture. The interior is painted, with four adjustable shelves.
